Mitiget Assurance and Technology Services Limited (Mitiget) proudly celebrates another major milestone with Capitalfield Investment Group Limited (CIGL) as the organization successfully achieves ISO 27001:2022 certification, the globally recognized standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

This achievement further reinforces CIGL’s commitment to protecting sensitive information, strengthening cybersecurity governance, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its critical data assets. The certification also reflects the organization’s continuous pursuit of operational excellence and its dedication to adopting globally recognized information security best practices.

Mitiget, a leading enterprise information security and risk management consulting firm, served as the consulting partner that guided CIGL through the implementation journey. Building on the success of CIGL’s earlier ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management certification, Mitiget once again partnered with the organization to design, implement, and operationalize a robust Information Security Management System (ISMS) across its seven subsidiaries: Capitalfield Energy and Allied Services (CEAS), Capitalfield Asset Management Company (CAMCO), Capitalfield Financial Management Limited (CFML), Moneyfield Microfinance Bank (MFB), Trust Pay Limited (TPL), Velocity Transfers Nigeria (VTL NG), and Velocity Transfers UK (VTL UK).

ISO 27001 is the international benchmark for managing information security risks. The standard provides a structured framework for organizations to identify information assets, assess and treat risks, implement appropriate controls, and establish governance mechanisms that ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of their security posture.

With cyber threats becoming increasingly sophisticated, organizations across industries must prioritize proactive security governance. By achieving ISO 27001 certification, CIGL demonstrates a strong commitment to safeguarding client information, maintaining regulatory compliance, and strengthening stakeholder confidence in its information handling practices.

The implementation journey involved comprehensive risk assessments, the establishment of security policies and procedures, deployment of risk treatment controls, and the integration of security governance into the organization’s operational culture. Mitiget worked closely with CIGL’s leadership and operational teams across the group to ensure that the ISMS was not only compliant with the standard but also aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

Through its structured implementation methodology and deep industry expertise, Mitiget supported CIGL in meeting the rigorous requirements of the ISO 27001 standard, culminating in a successful certification audit conducted by MSECB – an internationally accredited certification body.

Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Sunny Ukeachu, CEO of Mitiget, noted:

“We are proud to once again partner with Capitalfield Investment Group on this significant milestone. Achieving ISO 27001 certification reflects the organization’s strong leadership commitment to information security and responsible data governance. In today’s digital economy, organizations that embed security into their operational framework position themselves for sustainable growth and trust.”

Speaking on the significance of the certification, Mr. Raphael Lewu, Group Managing Director of Capitalfield Investment Group, emphasized the organization’s commitment to protecting client information and strengthening its digital resilience.

“In today’s highly digital and interconnected financial ecosystem, safeguarding information assets is a strategic priority for our organization. Achieving ISO 27001:2022 certification reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security, protecting the trust our clients place in us, and ensuring that our systems, processes, and people are aligned with global best practices. We appreciate the guidance and expertise provided by Mitiget throughout this journey.”

This milestone is a testament to the dedication of CIGL’s leadership and team, as well as Mitiget’s continued commitment to enabling organizations to strengthen their governance, risk management, and cybersecurity capabilities through internationally recognized standards and best practices.
